According to KIP on 28th, it is currently preparing to open a local office at one of the three candidates in Silicon Valley, United States.

He is currently known to be in US and Korea back and forth, speeding up the preparation of local office opening.
The American investment workforce is scheduled to start from three people. Director Lee is taking charge of the management with one investment officer dispatched from domestic head office and another one to be hired locally, who will join him to review the investments.
For the time being, KIP is planning to establish US branch in the form of business office. It has not decided whether to elevate the status into the form of investment headquarters yet. Previously established ShanghaiBeijing Investment Headquarters in China were also established in the form of business offices. Establishing as a business office instead of a corporation is known to be more advantageous in terms of taxes.
